PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera for preventing the waste of a film in the case of rewinding the film halfway, and also, whose operability is improved. SOLUTION: In the camera, in the case of giving instructions to rewind the film 5 halfway before the frames of the prescribed number are exposed, a belt-like discrimination mark 5d is automatically put on a part other than an exposure extent and perforations and from a part near the unexposed frame part 5d toward a film leader part 5k in accordance with the film 5 halfway- rewinding operation. In the case of pulling a halfway-rewound film cartridge 3 out of the camera, the cartridge 3 is discriminated as the halfway-rewound film cartridge based on the discrimination mark 5b. Besides, in the case of loading the cartridge again, the unexposed frame part 5d of the film 5 is automatically set by detecting the discrimination mark 5b.
