PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position alarming device for a detection probe usable in a severe work environment. SOLUTION: In this position alarming device for a detection probe, the detection probe 14 is moved along a prescribed position of an inspected part to give notice that its position is outside a prescribed area. The device is equipped with a comparison means 56 for comparing a measurement signal of the detection probe 14 with a prescribed reference value, an alarm means 57 for issuing an alarm based on the result of comparison with the reference value made by the comparison means 56, an optical display part 45 disposed near a grip part 41 of the detection probe 14, and a color tone changing means 58 for changing the color tone of the display part 45 based on an output of the alarm means 57 and according to the degree of dislocation from the prescribed position of the inspected part.
