摘要 An FWM(Four-Wave Mixing) compensator is provided to cancel crosstalk components due to FWM in a transmission link without influenced by the characteristics of the transmission link. An FWM compensator(200) comprises a non-linear block(260), an input block(250), a pump block(240), a coupling block(220), and an output block(270). The non-linear block converts the wavelengths of optical signals, transmitted along an optical line, and the wavelengths of the FWM components of the optical signals, and generates new FWM components due to secondary FWM. The input block adjusts the strength of the optical signals and the strength of the FWM components generated by the optical signals in the optical line and inputs them to the non-linear block. The pump block includes a pump laser(210) and elements(212-218) to adjust the output of the pump laser. The pump block adjusts the output of the pump laser and inputs it to the non-linear block. The coupling block the output of the pump block with the signals outputted from the input block and inputs the combined signals to the non-linear block. The output block filters and outputs only optical signals which do not contain a crosstalk component generated due to FWM in the optical line.
