PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telescopically extensible fishing rod having improved abrasion resistance of the joint part and keeping the contacting state over a long period by applying a simple improvement to the joint part. SOLUTION: The outer circumference of the outermost layer of a small-diameter rod member 1 is brought into contact under pressure with the inner circumference of the innermost layer of a large-diameter rod member 2 to keep the extended state of the small-diameter rod member 1 relative to the large-diameter rod member 2. Particles 3 harder than the prepreg constituting the small-diameter rod member 1 are dispersed in the outermost layer of the small-diameter rod member 1 and are embedded in the layer to keep the surface of the particle coplanar to the outer circumference of the outermost layer or slightly intruding in the layer.
