PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fluorinated aliphatic compound by the thermal decomposition of a perfluorocarboxylic acid, its derivative-halide and ester. SOLUTION: This method for producing a fluorinated aliphatic compound selected from perfluoroolefins, polyfluoroolefins and their derivatives comprises performing a thermal composition at 100 to 450 deg.C in the presence of a catalyst which comprises optimally an alkali metal halide selected from the fluoride, chloride, bromide, and iodide of sodium, potassium, rubidium, and cesium as an accelerator and a carrier selected from silicon oxide, activated carbon, magnesium oxide, calcium oxide, barium oxide, zinc oxide, aluminum oxide, and nickel oxide. Further, the method for producing a fluorinated aliphatic compound selected from polyfluoroalkanes and their derivatives in the presence of a hydrogen fluoride. |
