TECHNIQUE FOR RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY OF COMPLICATED OLD DAMAGE OF PATELLAR LIGAMENT

The technique for reconstructive surgery of the complicated old damage of the patellar ligament provides for cutting the flap and the restoration of the extension function of the knee joint. The patellar ligament is restored with the flap cut from femoral aponeurosis sewed in a tube. The tube is then passed through the longitudinal canal in the middle of the base of the patella and the transverse canal in tibial tuberosity generating a loop for the internal mobilization. The wire in the shape of figure eight is passed in transverse mode through the proximal fragment of the patella and the tibial tuberosity. The wire is removed in 2-3 months.
