PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve magnetic characteristics in a chip coil. SOLUTION: In order to achieve the purpose, the chip coil has a blank 5, a coil pattern 6 formed in contact with this blank 5, an electrode 7 connected to the coil pattern 6 and provided on the surface of the blank 5, and a base electrode layer 10 formed on a contact portion between the coil pattern 6 and the blank 5. In a manufacturing method of the chip coil, the base electrode layer 10 is configured in such a way that a plurality of nickel masses are formed by non-electrolytic plating on one part of the blank 5, and after that, a plurality of copper masses are formed by non-electrolytic plating with each of the nickel masses as a core.
