A POS system and a controlling method thereof are provided to enable a manager besides a seller to recognize operation in case that the purchase of goods is canceled/suspended after all the goods are scanned or being scanned by turning on an indication lamp. A barcode scanner(40) scans the barcode attached to the goods. A key input part(50) cancels or suspends the purchase of the scanned goods. A POS terminal receives goods information from the barcode scanner or the key input part. A scanning/key input display part(60) outputs a predetermined color by receiving a data signal from the POS terminal if the barcode scanning scans the barcode of the goods, and the input part cancels or suspends the scanned goods. The scanning/key input display part includes a first indication lamp turned off when the barcode scanner scans the barcode and turned on when the key input part scans the scanned goods, and a second indication lamp turned on when the key input part suspends the scanned goods.
