The present invention relates to a transformable caterpillar. The transformable caterpillar comprises a chute plate and a compressing means. The chute plate comprises at least one hinge and at least one plate connected through the hinge and has a substantially planar shape. The compressing means applies force in the side direction of the caterpillar to allow the chute plate to be deformed. The chute plate is deformed to have a shape protruding to the upper side or the lower side of the caterpillar when force is applied in the side direction of the caterpillar by the compressing means and can be returned to the planar shape when the applied force is removed. Further, strong grounding force can be provided to a vehicle as the chute plate of the caterpillar is deformed. |
