The present invention provides a liquid crystal display which is capable of suppressing the light disturbance caused when light passes through a color filter, so light use efficiency and color reproducibility are more improved. The liquid crystal display according to the present invention includes a light source (11), a first polarizing layer (22) for polarizing light, a second polarizing layer (23) for polarizing light and facing the first polarizing layer (22) while being spaced apart from the first polarizing layer (22) by an interval, a liquid crystal layer (21) interposed between the first and second polarizing layers (22, 23) to be driven to allow light to transmit therethrough or be blocked, a light a color filter (24) disposed between the first and second polarizing layers (22, 23) to be excited to self-emitting light, and a third polarizing layer (26) disposed between the first and second polarizing layers (22, 23) to polarize the light. |
