METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING PROSTATE CANCER

The method for diagnosing prostate cancer comprises transrectal ultrasonic scanning with biopsy under sonographic control. At least ten biopsy samples are taken for histopathology. The grey scale patterns of ultrasonic scan are assessed for revealing the areas of the altered echogenicity. In addition, Dopplerography is provided for detecting the local alterations of blood flow and changes of spectral patterns in urethral and peripheral arteries of prostate. Sonoelastography is also provided for detection of the areas with increased density. Then the extra biopsy at the sites detected upon additional examination is provided with special focus on the alterations in peripheral prostate areas.
