PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exposure device capable of obtaining stable printing quality. SOLUTION: Light emitting area information showing relation between luminance and the light emitting area of the light emitting region of an organic EL light emitting element is stored in a ROM 45B, and gradation characteristic information showing the gradation characteristic of photosensitive material when making the organic EL light emitting element emit light in each light emitting area is prestored in a gradation characteristic information storage part 46 in every two or more kinds of light emitting area preset. A photometry device 25 measures the luminance of the light emitting region of the organic EL light emitting element 20, and a system control part 45 derives the light emitting area from the measured luminance, based on the light emitting area information stored by the ROM 45B, and outputs a signal for accelerating the exchange of an exposure head when the derived light emitting area is equal to or under a prescribed threshold.
