PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage measuring method and a voltage measuring instrument of high resolution. SOLUTION: This voltage measuring instrument is provided with: a classifying means 11 for classifying both-end voltages or voltages corresponding to the both-end voltages into the first voltage classification of a voltage portion corresponding to a full scale and the second voltage classification of a voltage portion exceeding the full scale, when the both-end voltage or the voltage corresponding to the both-end voltage exceeds the full scale of an A/D conversion means (microcomputer) 7, in the case where a voltage in each of measured power sources V1-V5 is charged in a capacitor 3 and where the both-end voltage thereof or the voltage corresponding to the both-end voltage is A/D-converted by the A/D conversion means (microcomputer) 7 to calculate the voltage in the each of the measured power sources based on a measured value; the A/D conversion means (microcomputer) 7 provided corresponding respectively to the first and second voltage classifications to A/D-convert respectively the voltages of the first and second voltage classifications; and a voltage measuring means 7 for measuring the A/D-converted value by the A/D conversion means 7 and for calculating the voltage in the each of the measured power sources based on the measured value.
