PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation imaging apparatus and a radiation imaging system, capable of detecting radiation with high accuracy.SOLUTION: A radiation imaging apparatus includes: a detection part (101) in which conversion elements for converting radiation into an electronic signal are arranged in a matrix; radiation detection means (120) for detecting an irradiation state of the radiation; a driving circuit (102) for driving the detection part in accordance with an irradiation state detected by the radiation detection means; and photography kind setting means (126) for setting a kind of photography. The radiation detection means changes a radiation detection capability in accordance with the kind of photography set by the photography kind setting means.
