<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for optically compensating a liquid crystal cell by using a polarizing plate having an optical compensation function, to provide an optical film used therefor, in particular, to provide a method for displaying an image of high display quality without inducing unevenness even in a large liquid crystal display apparatus, and to provide an optical film used for the method, a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display apparatus using the film. <P>SOLUTION: The optical film has an optical anisotropic layer made of a liquid crystal compound on a supporting body, wherein the optical anisotropic layer contains a fluorine-containing polymer which has a component with ≥100,000 molecular weight by ≥8% development area ratio by GPC, and preferably in addition to the above described component, a component having ≤20,000 molecular weight by ≤61% development area ratio. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
