<p>A setting system for an air conditioner, which, when the models of air conditioners are different from each other depending on the kinds of outdoor units connected to indoor units, can determine the matching between the models and settings of remote controllers. One air conditioner model has a cooling-cum-heating outdoor unit (2) and a cooling-dedicated outdoor unit (3). A setting change switch (39) of a multipurpose remote controller (30) transmits an operation instruction signal corresponding to each air conditioner model to cause it to change a setting. A remote controller transmission section (31) unilaterally transmits an operation instruction signal, which corresponds to a setting condition of the setting change switch (39), to an indoor unit (1). An outdoor transmission section (25) of the outdoor unit (2) transmits its own specific prespecified model information to the indoor unit (1) connected to the outdoor unit (2). A determination section (15) of the indoor unit (1) compares the specified model information and the operation instruction signal to determine whether a setting of the multipurpose remote controller (30) and the model of the air conditioner correspond to each other.</p> |
