Provided is an internal combustion engine. A starting motor (45) drives a geared crankshaft flywheel (34) and an integrated crankshaft (33) to rotate; a crankshaft connecting rod (6) drives a crankshaft rotating arm (5) and a left-right rotating shaft (2) to perform a left rotation or a right rotation; piston rotating arms (3) on the left-right rotating shaft (2) drive piston connecting rods (8) and pistons (11) to move up and down in an air cylinder (10); and a crankshaft drives and controls a valve mechanism, an oil supply mechanism and an ignition mechanism to achieve startup and automatic operation of the internal combustion engine. Two gears (35) are fixed on the left-right rotating shaft (2), and have one-way clutches with opposite clutching directions; one gear (35) is engaged to a power output shaft gear (41), and the other gear (35) is engaged to an intermediate gear (38) which in turn is engaged to the power output shaft gear (41); and the gears convert the left-right rotations of the left-right rotating shaft (2) into a continuous rotation in one direction, and the power output shaft gear (41) drives a power output shaft (39) to output power. In comparison to an internal combustion engine outputting power via a crankshaft, the internal combustion engine has a higher efficiency, and reduces fuel consumption and vehicle emission. |
