PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus to be used with an insertion part being inserted into a subject, the endoscope apparatus allowing a drive signal with no degradation in waveforms to be input into an image pickup device provided in the tip part located at the distal end of the insertion part.SOLUTION: The endoscope apparatus comprises: an insertion part which has an image pickup device at the distal end for outputting pixel signals according to a captured image and transfers a drive signal for driving the image pickup device; and a body part which includes a drive signal generation unit which generates the drive signal. The body part generates a control signal which is iterated for each horizontal period comprising a horizontal driving period during which signals stored in the pixels of the image held by the image pickup device are sequentially driven and read out, and a horizontal blanking period during which the signals stored in the pixels are not read out. The endoscope apparatus also comprises a horizontal drive signal generation unit which generates a horizontal drive signal for sequentially driving and reading out the signals stored in the pixels in the image pickup device, on the basis of the control signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
