PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soil fumigating method and to obtain a soil fumigant enabling a juvenile plant to be raised by seeding after soil soil fumigation treatment. SOLUTION: This soil fumigant is obtained by making granules having allyl isothiocyanate or methyl isothiocyanate borne on a carrier a granular aggregate buy using a water-soluble binder. The soil fumigating method involves the steps of mixing the above fumigant into soil, covering the resultant soil with a mulching film, and injecting the soil with water. Since the active ingredient of the fumigant begins to degrade by water, on making a soil fumigation treatment along with injecting the soil with water, seeds can be sown or a juvenile plant can be raised just after the fumigating treatment.
