PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device capable of conducting the recovery operation of a recording head at a high carrying accuracy while maintaining the strength of a carrying belt without moving the recording head. SOLUTION: The carrying belt 25 is retreated from the printing region of the inkjet recording head 12 in the direction orthogonal to the carrying direction, enabling the maintenance unit 26 located below the inkjet recording head 12 to conduct maintenance of the recording head 12. Thus, the maintenance of the inkjet recording head 12 can be conducted by only retreating the carrying belt 25, without having to move the recording head 12 nor to horizontally move the maintenance unit 26.
