PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt-nip system image fixing device capable of preventing irregularities in an image from occurring by the scattering of a toner image by water vapor produced from a moisture containing recording medium and thermally expanded air. SOLUTION: An elastic layer 121c is provided on the rear surface side of an endless belt 121. In a gap formed between a plurality of pressuring members 122 and 125 pressing the endless belt 121 on the surface of a rotating body 111, the endless belt 121 is pressed on the surface of the rotating body 111 by the plurality of pressuring members 122 and 125, whereby the elastic layer 121c is deformed so that the thickness of the endless belt 121 may be equal to or above that of the belt 121 in a non-load state, and subject was solved.
