An image sensor is provided to improve the resolution of an image sensor without reducing the design rule of a cell or decreasing the quantity of light by correspondingly disposing pixels in a line scan array in a predetermined space between pixels in its adjacent line scan array in a scan direction of a subject. First line scan arrays(110) are composed of first pixels(112) arranged at a regular interval on an odd-numbered column. Second line scan arrays(120) are positioned on an even-numbered column, composed of second pixels(122) that are disposed to correspond to a space between the first pixels in each first line scan array. The second pixels can be disposed at substantially the same interval as that between the first pixels.
