PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine capable of smoothly carrying a commodity. SOLUTION: The vending machine comprises: a plurality of commodity carrying units; a commodity shelf mounting the plurality of commodity carrying units; and a bucket acquiring the head commodity on the commodity carrying unit. The vending machine comprises: a plurality of unit identification members fixed to the head commodity sides of the plurality of commodity carrying units; a non-contact sensor detecting the presence of the plurality of unit identification members when the bucket moves in the orthogonal direction to a carrying direction; and a stop position arithmetic section calculating the stop position of the bucket by using a detection position as a reference point, where the non-contact sensor detects the unit identification member of the specified commodity carrying unit. The bucket is stopped by facing the specified commodity carrying unit based on a calculation result obtained by the stop position arithmetic section. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
