A connector assembly includes a male connector 2 and a female connector 3. Connector 2 has a lever 4 which pivots at 31 and also has a fulcrum boss 7. When the connectors are pushed together, in the first stage boss 7 is pushed into straight fulcrum guiding groove 33. The lever is then rotated - boss 7 runs along inclined fulcrum guiding groove 34 and is caught by abutting part 6a (Figs 3-4), which controls the movement of the fulcrum boss in the width direction of the connectors. Further rotation of the lever brings the two connectors together (Figs 4-5). Alternatively the boss may be on the counterpart connector and be caught by the lever. |
