The invention relates to a hair styling apparatus (1) comprising a styling rod (2) and a grip (3) that is joined to the styling rod (2) and is provided with a holding part (5) and a pivotable flap (4) which is connected to the holding part (5). The flap (4) can be swiveled between an open and a closed position and is used for closing a receiving area for a gas cartridge (6). The inside of the free end of the flap (4) is equipped with support means (14, 15) which are embodied so as to apply a moving force to the gas cartridge (6) when the flap (4) is closed, said force acting axially in the longitudinal direction of the apparatus. The gas cartridge (6) is thus moved directly into an operational position when the flap (4) is closed, a valve needle (10) being introduced into a gas cartridge (6) valve (24) by displacing the gas cartridge in said operational position. The flap is also fitted with a brace element (20) in the region where the flap is hingedly connected to the holding part (5). Said brace element (20) applies an axial moving force to the gas cartridge when the flap (4) is opened and thus puts the gas cartridge (6) in a removing position, the moving force acting in the direction of the end of the grip in the longitudinal direction of the apparatus. |
