Provided is a communication terminal capable of transmitting and receiving a text message by a method compatible with a plurality of languages and suppressing increase of a load applied on the communication terminal itself, reducing the dependence on an external server, and creating to display and receiving to display a text message in a second language. A communication terminal (20) includes: a dictionary memory (122) for converting second language input data inputted by a user to display respective characters of the second language on a screen into special character codes each expressing a plurality of conversion candidate characters in the second language; and a font memory (132) for converting the special character codes into font data. Furthermore, the special character codes are configured as a combination of a plurality of element codes each corresponding to a plurality of elements each having a unique shape obtained by decomposing a corresponding one character.
