摘要 The present invention relates to a cable fault diagnosing system and method. When the intensity of a reflected signal deviates from a predetermined fault diagnosing range because the intensity of the reflected signal is weak due to superposition of an applied signal and the reflected signal by approach between a fault position and an application position, or a long distance between the fault position and the application position, a calibration position where a value of a predetermined correlation function has the maximum value is derived on the basis of the correlation function for an applied signal supplied to a cable to be tested and a reflected signal acquired from the cable, a calibration signal that is the reflected signal from which the applied signal is removed is calculated at the derived calibration position, and a distance between the calibration position and an acquisition position is derived on the basis a time delay and a transmission speed calculated on the basis of the calculated calibration signal and a reflected signal at the acquisition position. Accordingly, a fault type and a fault position of the cable to be tested may be accurately detected even when the applied signal and the reflected signal overlap each other due to a short distance between the fault position and the application position. In addition, accuracy and reliability for detecting the fault type and the fault position of the cable to be tested may be improved even when the intensity of the reflected signal is weak due to a long distance between the fault position and the application position or a low degree of fault.
