PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmitter of an optical communication system which can use QAM as a modulation type and compensates signal deterioration due to a nonlinear effect of an optical fiber.SOLUTION: An optical transmitter includes: conversion means for converting data to be transmitted into a first complex signal in accordance with a modulation type to be used; and output means for generating a second complex signal based on the first complex signal and a first value, multiplexing the first complex signal and the second complex signal and outputting the multiplexed complex signals.
