PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print controller for a printer including a plurality of paper feed trays, capable of achieving both selection of a sheet degrading as much as possible and keeping necessary print quality.SOLUTION: A RIP processing unit 110 in a print controller 10 performs a process for converting a print job received from a host apparatus 20 into print data (raster data). On the other hand, an image data rate calculation processing unit 115 in the RIP processing unit 110 calculates a rate of image data in the print job. A print processing unit 120 converts the print data into data for a printer 30 and transmits the data to the printer 30. On the other hand, a sheet selection processing unit 125 in the print processing unit 120 acquires degradation degree of each sheet on each paper feed tray, selects a sheet at the degradation degree at which the print job can be printed on the sheet according to the rate of the image data in the print job from among sheets in each paper feed tray and transmits information on the selection to the printer 30. |
