A control system for a venetian blind has an overhead housing with a drive shaft and a spring loaded cord store as well as winding controls for the tilt cords. The design has a simpler layout than conventional systems and provides simple adjustment and alignment. The drive shaft is located through two housings which are clipped into the bottom of the housing.
