PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack guide mechanism capable improving energizing force acted on a rack guide, only when there is a fear of a collision of a bottom surface of the rack guide on a bottom surface of a storing chamber due to external force.SOLUTION: A rack guide mechanism 10 includes: a housing 11 formed with a storing chamber 12 opening toward a rack shaft 6; a screw 13 screwed with the housing 11 to form a bottom wall of the storing chamber 12; a rack guide 14 stored in the storing chamber 12 to support the rack shaft 6; and a compression coil spring 15 interposed between a bottom surface 13a of the storing chamber 12 and the rack guide 14, and always energizing the rack guide 14 to the rack shaft 6 side. An elastic body 16 in a natural length state is fixed on either one of the bottom surface 13a of the storing portion 12 or opposite surfaces (14b and 17a) of the rack guide 14 opposing to the bottom surface 13a of the storing portion 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
