PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod good in rod operability and grippability in gripping the end of a rod tail member made of flexible material and good in grip feeling as well. SOLUTION: This fishing rod has such a scheme that a rod tail member 3 made of flexible material such as rubber is fittedly and adhesively fixed on the outer circumference of the smaller diameter portion of the end of a rear side grip 2 made of rubber, cork, expanded material or the like; the rod tail member 3 is composed of a cylindrical portion 3a with U-shaped cross section, longitudinal wall 3b, recess 3c on the rear side of the longitudinal wall 3b, circumferential groove 3d on the inner side of the recess 3c, hook portion 3e on the opening end of the recess 3c, and the rear end face 3f of the cylindrical portion 3a; and a reinforcing member 4 made of rigid material such as metal, ceramic or rigid synthetic resin is inserted into the recess 3c.
