摘要 An array substrate for an In-Plane switching mode LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to minimize light leakage by preventing generation of rubbing faults during a longitudinally-proceeding rubbing process by removing the necessity for generation of a foreground line intercept unit having a tilt area in an edge where a vertical unit meets a horizontal unit. Gate lines(102) extended in one direction on a substrate(100). Data lines(118) define a pixel area by crossing the gate lines. A switching device is configured in an intersection between the gate lines and the data lines. A common electrode(106a,106b,106c) is configured in the same layer as the gate line in the pixel area. The common electrode includes plural horizontal units configured in the same direction as the gate line, and first and second vertical units formed in one side and the other side of the horizontal unit to connect the two sides. A transparent pixel electrode(126a,126b,126c) is connected with the switching device. The transparent pixel comprises plural horizontal units configured in the pixel area and configured between the horizontal units of the common electrode, and first and second vertical units formed in one side and the other side of the horizontal unit to connect the two sides. The transparent pixel includes a foreground line intercept unit(150) configured in a contact portion between the vertical unit and the horizontal unit.
