PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform authentication for accessing a storage device such as an HDD including a storage medium, by using an IC card.SOLUTION: A storage device including a storage medium includes: a reading unit that reads identification information which is stored in an IC card; and an authentication unit that starts a read operation of identification information by the reading unit and performs authentication by using the identification information which is read by the reading unit and basic identification information which is stored in a specific region of the storage medium.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
