<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current sensor which can detect current magnetic field by a current to be detected with high accuracy and stably, despite its compactness. <P>SOLUTION: The current sensor comprises a linear part 2A which generates the current magnetic field HmA by the supply of the current to be detected Im, an MR element 51A arranged along the linear part 2A, and a magnetic substrate arranged between the linear part 2A and the MR element 51A. The MR element 51A includes a free layer, having a magnetization direction J13 which changes, in response to the current magnetic field HmA and a fixed layer, having a magnetization direction J11A fixed in a fixed direction. The magnetization direction J11A is fixed, in a direction orthogonal to the magnetization direction J13A of the free layer, when the current magnetic field HmA is zero. A biased magnetic field Hb1 along the magnetization direction J13A of the free layer, when the current magnetic field HmA is zero is applied to the MR element 51A by the magnetic substrate, thereby enhancing the unidirectional anisotropy of the free layer, without using shape anisotropy. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
