PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily exchange LED elements and adjust positions of LED elements for adjusting unevenness in the quantity of light, in a line source for performing main scan of a document in a line shape using a plurality of LED elements aligned in a line shape. SOLUTION: A recess 64 that is long in a main scanning direction, is provided in the center of a lateral direction (sub scanning direction) on a substrate 12, and a magnet 63 is disposed in a portion corresponding to a bottom thereof. An LED element 11 including an iron plate 61 on its bottom surface is engaged to the recess 64 to perform positioning in the sub scanning direction and held by a magnetic force. At this time, positive and negative electrodes 60d, 60e at a side of the LED element 11 are brought into contact with positive and negative electrodes 62d, 62e at a side of the substrate 12, thereby achieving continuity. The LED element 11 is held by the magnetic force, thereby facilitating attachment/detachment thereof to/from the substrate, position adjustment thereof, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
