A ball-hitting sound analyzing method in which many ball-hitting sounds produced at different ball-hitting positions on a club face are converted into digital signals, and the signals are subjected to spectrum analysis (S11, S12), the hitting point positions and feature values such as the peak frequencies of the power spectra and autocorrelation functions are recorded in a database (S13), a data group where the X- and Y-coordinates representing the hitting point positions on the face concentrate in a specific coordinate region or there is a function relationship of high goodness between the feature values and coordinates is extracted, an inference rule to infer the coordinate positions from the feature values by data mining is derived (S14), and the hitting positions on the club face are determined from the new hitting sounds.
