FIELD: forestry.SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in forestry, timber industry for determining age of tree. Method comprises exposing side surface of a tree to a pulse, for example, ultrasonic, electromagnetic or laser. Signals reflected fro annual rings of growing tree are picked up by a special receiver, and number of annual rings is determined by picking up signals reflected from annual rings.EFFECT: method provides sufficiently accurate determination of age of tree without mechanical damages thereto.1 cl |
