<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize a jitter by compensating astigmatism in accordance with each medium and to simultaneously compensate astigmatism and spherical aberration even when a medium corresponding to a plurality of waveforms is reproduced by one optical pickup. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pickup device is provided with light sources 1a and 1b for projecting laser beams, an objective lens 8 for collecting laser beams projected by the light sources 1a and 1b onto a disk surface of an optical disk 13, a light receiving part 10 for receiving reflecting light reflected by the disk surface, a collimating lens 5 for compensating spherical aberration of an emitted light from the objective lens 8, a lens driving part 12 for moving the collimating lens 5 in an optical axial direction, and a control unit 11 for controlling operation of the lens driving part 12 on the basis of an output of the light receiving part 10, wherein the astigmatism of the emitted light from the objective lens 8 is compensated by tilting the collimating lens 5 at a prescribed angle by the lens driving part 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
