<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time needed for positional deviation correction to improve efficiency of image formation by correcting a positional deviation (color deviation) while continuously rotating motors for rotationally driving photoreceptors, in an image forming apparatus and a positional deviation correcting method. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus in which a plurality of image carriers are provided side by side and combines images of respective colors formed on respective image carriers to form a color image. A main control unit transmits a speed signal indicating the target rotational speed of motors for rotating the image carriers for correction of a detected positional deviation to a motor control unit and transmits a speed-change permission signal for permitting speed changes, after the lapse of a prescribed time from the point of time when an imaging reference signal indicating the start and end of image areas of respective colors indicates the end of a pertinent image area immediately after the transmission of the speed signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
