The energy storage-high current-ignition has a high voltage condenser ignition and a transistor coil ignition or magnetic-ignition. Two high current branches (S) with running high voltage diodes (D1,D2) are connected at nodes of ignition circuit (Z). Diodes are not connected at the other ends in the mass related electrodes (VS1) of the ignition circuit. An electrical bypass is provided in the electrodes of a gas discharge section (GS) of the ignition circuit over the secondary side of a ignition transformer.
