PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission which achieves improvement of fuel economy by reducing pump work and enables improvement of shift responsiveness, and to provide a control method of the transmission.SOLUTION: A transmission 200 includes: a variator 4; and a hydraulic circuit 100. The variator 4 includes a PRI pulley 41 having a first PRI chamber 41ca and a second PRI chamber 41cb; an SEC pulley 42 having an SEC chamber 42c; and a belt 43 wound around the PRI pulley 41 and the SEC pulley 42. The hydraulic circuit 100 includes a selecting circuit part 110 which allows the second PRI chamber 41cb to selectively communicate with the first PRI chamber 41ca and the SEC chamber 42c.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
