<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a method where the used material of a catalyst for exhaust gas purification using SiC anticipated that activity will increase from now is treated, and a noble metal(s) such as gold or a platinum group comprised therein is recovered. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for recovering a noble metal(s) where a noble metal(s) is recovered from an SiC-based substance such as a waste catalyst for exhaust gas purification comprising a noble metal(s) such as gold or a platinum group element(s), the SiC-based substance is charged inside a furnace together with molten metal copper, an oxygen gas or an oxygen-containing gas is blown therein, temperature is held to 1,100 to 1,600°C, and oxidation treatment is performed, thus it is separated into an upper layer of a melted oxide essentially consisting of silicic acid and copper oxide and a lower layer of molten metal copper comprising the noble metal(s), so as to recover the noble metal(s) into the molten metal copper layer at a high yield. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
