A highly-expanded heat-recoverable article intended primarily for automative electrical harnessing has unusually high expansion ratios (e.g. greater than 4:1) and preferably in a relatively flat tubular shape of high aspect ratio (e.g. 6:1). Preferred convolutions for flexibility are prevented from splitting by means of controlled radii of curvature of the corners of the convolutions and by the use (unusual in heat-recoverable materials) of reinforcing fillers, which also permit relatively high levels of cross-linking to avoid 'amnesia' on recovery.
|
