Method for determining the durability of a power station component

The method involves defining a characteristic i.e. operating hour, for life span of a power plant component at a constant output. A characteristic e.g. cold-start, is defined for the life span of the component at a variable output. Equivalence rules are defined to reproduce a pre-defined operation of the component at the respective outputs in accordance with the respective characteristics. The characteristics that are generated during an actual operation of the power plant are determined. The life span of the component is estimated using the determined sum of the characteristics.
