PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor driving motor which can be cooled by supplying only a required minimum amount of liquid refrigerant into a gap between a rotor and a stator, and to provide its cooling method.SOLUTION: A compressor driving motor 10 includes a rotor 12, a stator 13 encircling the outer peripheral part of the rotor 12, a case 14 storing the rotor 12 and the stator 13, a liquid introduction path 21 for introducing liquid refrigerant from a refrigerant circuit 5 including a compressor 1, and a gas introduction path 20 for introducing gas refrigerant from the refrigerant circuit 5. In the case 14, there are a downstream chamber R2 which is located on one end side in the axial direction of the rotor 12 and the stator 13 and in which the compressor 1 is arranged, and an upstream chamber R1 which is located on the other end side in the axial direction and communicated with the downstream chamber R2 via a gap G between the outer peripheral part of the rotor 12 and the inner peripheral part of the stator 13. The liquid refrigerant and the gas refrigerant each introduced are mixed in the upstream chamber R1, and wet vapor with the liquid refrigerant and the gas refrigerant mixed is supplied at least into the gap G.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
