PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device manufacturing method which prevents irregularities occurring on a lower part of a light emitting device from generating a harmful effect on the light emitting element; and a display device manufacturing method which allows reduction in entry of water inside a display light emitting device through a film having high moisture permeability without a tremendous increase in the number of processes.SOLUTION: A light emitting device comprises: a flat third insulation film provided above a substrate; a first electrode provided above the third insulation film; a luminescent layer 142 provided above the first electrode; a second electrode 143 provided above the luminescent layer; and a seal material 144 provided above the third insulation film. The seal material has a region that overlaps a second conductive film and the seal material has a region that contacts the third insulation film.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
