CONDENSED RING-CONTAINING POLYMER ELECTROLYTE, AND ITS APPLICATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a condensed ring-containing polymer electrolyte which is suitable for applications where water resistance is required, and to provide a solid polymer fuel cell provided with the polymer electrolyte.

SOLUTION: [1] The polymer electrolyte is equipped with a weight fraction 1 to 30 wt.% of a structural unit as shown in a general formula (1). [2] A polymer electrolyte [1] composed of a structural unit as shown in the general formula (1) having no ion exchange group and a structural unit having an ion exchange group. [3] A polymer electrolyte membrane composed of either of the above polymer electrolytes [1] or [2]. [4] A fuel cell provided with the polymer electrolyte membrane [3].
