The dispenser includes a protective device with a main segment and a switch segment, the main segment having a base portion and a plurality of protective arms pivotable relative to the base portion. The switch segment is displaceable relative to the main segment between a protective position and an enable position, wherein the switch segment limits maneuverability of the protective arms of the main segment in the protective position and does not limit maneuverability of the protective arms in the enable position.

1. A dispenser for discharging of liquid or pulverulent medium comprising:
a medium reservoir; a discharge opening; a feeding device for feeding of medium from the medium reservoir to the discharge opening, the feeding device comprising an actuating handle displaceable linearly relative to the medium reservoir in an actuation direction by which actuating handle the feeding device may be actuated for discharge; and a protective device comprising a main segment and a switch segment, the main segment having a base portion and a plurality of protective arms pivotable relative to the base portion, the switch segment being displaceable relative to the main segment between a protective position and an enable position, wherein the switch segment limits maneuverability of the protective arms of the main segment in the protective position and does not limit maneuverability of the protective arms in the enable position, the protective device being attachable or attached to the feeding device such that upon securing the main segment with the switch segment the accessibility or maneuverability of the actuating handle relative to the medium reservoir is prevented and the protective device being configured such that by displacing the switch segment into the enable position and the thus achievable maneuverability of the protective arms, the accessibility or maneuverability of the actuating handle is obtained.
