PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast transmitter and a broadcast receiver that can reduce wait time until the contents are reproduced in the case of receiving the contents reproduced by the execution of a program. SOLUTION: A cache program decision section 107 calculates the number of corresponding contents of programs, whose contents after a current time band or below are reproduced based on broadcast information and decides a program whose contents number is a maximum to be a cached program. Furthermore, the cache program decision section 107 refers to the broadcast information to decide a time band for program caching and its channel. When the decided time band comes, a cache section 108 gives an instruction to a demultiplexing decoding section 104 to demultiplex and decode programs sent through the decided channel and to transmit the resulting programs to a program storage section 109.
